Juja MP Francis Waititu has died at the MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi on Monday evening, February 22.

His wife, Mrs Munyua, confirmed the passing on of the Juja MP.

“It with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of our loving Dad Hon. Francis Munyua Waititu (Member of Parliament Juja Constituency). May His soul Rest in Eternal Peace and may God grant him the Divine Grace to accept His will, ” his wife said.

The lawmaker had been battling brain cancer, a fight he opened up about in 2018 when he said that he was forced to seek treatment in India.

Waitutu then told journalists that he was forced to undergo a test by his mother after his older sister died of cancer.

A number of lawmakers on Monday night took to their Facebook accounts to mourn the death of the MP.

South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro said: “My colleague Wakapee- may you RIP. A gentle soul has rested.”

Hon Francis Munyua Waititu ‘Wakapay’ was a very dear and close friend. When I vied for the Gatundu South seat in the 2014 by-elections Wakapay was the only sitting MP to defy all odds to come out and openly campaign for me. Rest in Peace my brother Wakapay pic.twitter.com/9KDfym6uZ4

Hon. Francis Waititu aka Wakapee, I vividly remember the days we shared the platform and exchanged ideas on the morning show at K24 tv. You were articulate and full of energy.
