Jambojet’s customers will now have the option of paying for air tickets using bonga points.
The development follows a partnership between the regional carrier and Safaricom, which will allow Jambojet customers to redeem bonga points to purchase air tickets to any of its six local destinations of Nairobi, Mombasa, Diani, Malindi, Kisumu and Eldoret.
Jambojet Head of Sales and Marketing Titus Oboogi, said the move is intended to enable Kenyans to travel despite being cash trapped as a result of the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Peter Ndegwa, through the partnership with Jambojet, the mobile service provider seeks to provide customers with more options on how to utilize the value of their bonga points.
Last month, Jambojet introduced a progressive web app (PWA) to allow customers book tickets, check in and access their boarding pass on their smartphones.
